Learn to use a full television studio including cameras, intercom systems, a green screen set, an eight-channel audio board and an advanced control room. We'll also teach you techniques for communicating as a crew and how to live stream your show on AOC's website.

This workshop certifies members to use AOC's largest studio, the Multi-Purpose Room.

MUSE Spring 2018 Stories-In-Motion Series: MEME-oir Memoirs 2/26/2018  2/26/2018 
Teen MUSE after school program for ages 12-18

Participants will create their own version of Hemingway's six word stories and use digital tools to create visual images (or MEMEs) that support their stories.

Audio Production 2/27/2018  2/27/2018 
In this workshop you will learn the basics of recording audio using simple studio tools and a computer-recording interface. We discuss two types of recording software, microphones, headphones and mixing.

This class certifies members to use AOC's Audio Booth.

Animation Basics 3/1/2018  3/1/2018 
This workshop is a basic primer on animation. Participants will learn about several animation forms and have an opportunity for hands-on learning using AOC's Post Lab computers and our new Animation Booth.

Basic Editing 3/12/2018  3/12/2018 
This is a beginners' workshop that introduces users to the editing program most used at AOC. Students will learn the main functions of Final Cut Pro X including trimming clips, adding text and audio, and exporting and submitting content for air.

Learn your way around Adobe's Illustrator by getting a basic overview of tools and functions. During this interactive workshop, students will create a basic illustration that will encourage them to create more.

Learn advanced editing techniques using Apple's Final Cut Pro X Software. We strongly recommend you take our Basic Editing workshop before attending this class.

Backpack Media Production 3/17/2018  3/17/2018 
Learn how to write, produce, edit and share your media creations using one of AOC's new Backpack Kits. These iPad-based kits are an entire production house you can carry around in a backpack. Use it to create films, animations, podcasts, and more.

Participants explore the concept of perspective and its application to photography. They utilize creative planning and collaboration to produce fun forced perspective photos using only a camera and simple props.

Independent Filmmaking with Guest Chris Jones 3/21/2018  3/21/2018 
Explore the fundamental phases of production with rising scriptwriter and director Chris Jones. Join us as Chris screens his capstone short film Pearl Motel (17 minutes, ages 17+) and shares his experience with producing a high quality independent film under a tight production budget.

Participants discuss and examine the language and techniques used in print & digital advertising, as well as the impact of advertising on their daily lives. They practice these techniques with fun role-play activities.

AOC Community Media Announces Spring 2018 Series Premiere Television Schedule -  12/14/2017
AOC Community Media has released its premiere schedule for series programs running January through June 2018. After earning series slots, series producers entered a six month commitment to provide AOC with regular content for its two public access television channels: LUS Fiber channels 3 and 4 or Cox Communications channels 15 and 16. All producers are responsible and liable for the content they submit to AOC.
