AOC Community Media will premiere footage of Festival International 2016 main-stage performances during Fest Week July 1-8 on AOC 1 (Cox Communications channel 15 or LUS Fiber channel 3). AOC will air episodes each day during prime-time hours, culminating in an all-day Festival recap on Friday, July 8.

During the five-day festival in April 2016, AOC captured nearly 20 hours of live performances in high definition.

“Fest Week might just look like coverage of widely known bands playing in Lafayette, Louisiana, to some,” said Ed Bowie, executive director of AOC. “But a deeper look shows the countless hours of our more than 30 volunteers who trained, practiced and then volunteered their own time to help AOC record these amazing performances ”

“With so much activity going on, it is impossible to see every performance at Festival International," said Festival International Executive Director Scott Feehan. "We are grateful to AOC for filming every show at Scène Cypress Bayou Casino Internationale. Fest Week gives people a chance to relive their favorite performances and enjoy the ones they missed during Festival. This is truly an invaluable service AOC provides to the community, and for that, we are thankful.”

AOC will continue to re-air footage of the festival performances throughout the year on Cox Communications channels 15 and 16 and LUS Fiber channels 3 and 4. From the past 30 years of Festival International, AOC has recorded main-stage performances and then aired them on its two channels which are cablecast in the Acadiana area on Cox and LUS. A volunteer crew used high-definition cameras to capture video from the main stage. Video was then recorded digitally and encoded for live cablecast.
