(Lafayette, LA) - On November 11 and 12, 2020 , at 7:00 PM, the University of Louisiana at

Lafayette’s traditional music program will present live-streaming shows featuring student performers,

brought to you from the studios of KRVS-88.7 FM.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, the Angelle Aces (under the direction of Mr. Blake Miller) will perform

traditional Cajun music with some innovative arrangements, starting at 7:00 PM. During the break

between bands, we will hear from students in Megan Constantin’s Cajun and Creole French vocals class.

The last set of the night will start around 8:00 PM and feature the Zydeco Ragin’ Steppers, under the

direction of Mr. Nathan Williams Jr. Find a place in your home to dance and join us on YouTube for the

On Thursday, Nov. 12, a mix of traditional and contemporary blues will be offered starting at 7:00 PM.

The blues are alive and well at the university; auditions yielded practically two full bands, brimming with

talent. First up will be the Royal Roots Blues Band (under the direction of Mr. Marty Christian), a group

of guitarists and vocalists with rhythm section who have been immersing themselves in the classic

sounds of early electric blues of the 1940s-50s. The second band will go on around 8:00 PM, the Ragin’ &

Blues Band under the direction of Mr. Lee Allen Zeno. Blues-drenched versatility is this group’s calling

card: classic R&B, contemporary blues, blues-rock... You name it, they can bluesify it.
