ANNUAL CAJUN CHILI FEST HOSTS STATE COOKOFFA Family Promise of Acadiana benefit event

Traveling chili cooking teams will be vying for the Louisiana State Championship at Cajun Chili Fest, Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Blackham Coliseum. In addition to the state cookoff, Cajun Chili Fest also features a local division for Acadiana teams to put their best recipes to the test for a chance to win cash prizes and bragging rights.

For $5, festival-goers can taste dozens of chilis, while enjoying family-friendly activities, including live music from the Alligator Blue Band, raffles with great prizes, a Kids Zone and vendor booths. No entry fee for children 12 and under.

All proceeds benefit Family Promise of Acadiana, a local nonprofit that helps homeless families achieve and sustain long-term independence. The organization is in its 15th year of service and, due to support received from events like the Cajun Chili Fest, has been able to consistently provide aid for families in need.
