National Police Week 2019
Lafayette- May 12 th through May 18 th is National Police Week being
celebrated nationwide. The week is dedicated to celebrating and
honoring the lives of police officer’s who’ve been killed in the line of
duty.
The Lafayette Police Department will be hosting the annual Police
Memorial service on May 16 th at 6:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church
located at 400 Camellia Boulevard. A motorcade will begin at 5:30 p.m.
starting from the Lafayette Police Department main station located at
900 E. University Ave., and proceed to the church.
Twelve Law Enforcement Agencies will be represented from the
Acadiana region, with 22 Fallen Officers being honored to include the 6
police officers killed in the line of duty from the Lafayette Police
Department. Please join us as we honor our fallen heroes.
