D.R.E.A.M.S. Manufacturing Company Celebrates Sample Day with Drive-Thru Style

Lafayette, LA- The D.R.E.A.M.S. Manufacturing Company is hosting a Triple Threat of Treats Drive Thru on Saturday, September 19 from 11am to 1pm at the DREAMS Meat Pie factory which is located at 3302 Johnston Street, Lafayette in the Acadiana Plaza. There will be free samples of sweets, smoothies and famous, tasty meat pies from the D.R.E.A.M.S. Manufacturing Company.

The D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana established the D.R.E.A.M.S. Manufacturing Company to create jobs for individuals with special needs in the Lafayette community by baking and selling meat pies that can be found at grocers across Acadiana.  The unique part of the company is these pies are made from scratch by 24 individuals, with 21 of them have special needs. 

“We employ over 20 individuals with special needs and each person contributes to the production of the meat pies in their own special way,” comments Donielle Watkins, Executive Director of D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana. 

Unique Smoothies, which is another organization that employs special needs individuals, will be giving samples and selling their smoothies. Unique Smoothies provides employment and fulfillment for unique Individuals and provides the public with a healthy, high-quality, and mobile smoothie option. Hopie's Sweet Treats will be selling tasty desserts at the Triple Threat of Treats Drive-Thru. For the customers convenience, each vendor will have stations located throughout the parking lot so that social distancing can be practiced.
