Acadiana Center for the Arts Presents Acting Up (In Acadiana)’s MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR
Acadiana Center for the Arts presents Acting Up (In Acadiana)’s production of Shakespeare’s THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR. This irreverent, and at times raunchy, comedy also ponders the changing roles of men and women during Shakespeare’s time—roles we continue to grapple with in 2019. Other timely themes include socio-economic status, trust, loyalty, jealousy, the “other” and more. We could almost title it THE MERRY “REAL HOUSE” WIVES OF WINDSOR. This contemporary concept of Merry Wives of Windsor is sure to have audiences laughing.
Acting Up (in Acadiana) company members anchor the production with Daniel LeBoeuf as Falstaff, Lian Cheramie as Mistress Page, Christy Leichty as Mistress Ford, George Saucier and Ford, Hannah Briggs as Mistress Quickly, Colin Miller as Dr. Caius, and Sarah Mikayla Brown as Shallow. Other company and junior company cast include Zoe Chauvin, Debbie Briant, Brooke Schexnyder, Jeff Roberts, Cathy Wagnon, Cissy Whipp, Skeet Anseman and Jessica Hackett. Acting Up (in Acadiana) is happy to welcome community actors to the cast: Duncan Thistlewaite as Page, Breanne Billeaud as Anne Page, Luke Morris as Sir Hugh, as well as Amelia Thompson, Anna Marquardt, and Kipp Gary.
