Foster the Love Louisiana Teams Up with Local Businesses to Create First Night Bags for Foster Children
Foster the Love Louisiana is now accepting donations for First
Night Bags for foster children across Acadiana. First Night bags include everything a
foster child and foster family might need for their first night in a new place.
Often foster families are left scrambling to get basic items like, toothbrushes, formula,
diapers, and more so they can make it through their first few hours.
“It’s already a scary situation for the child, we want to make sure the foster families can
focus on the immediate and emotional needs, not have to run out to the store in the
middle of the night,” explains Heather Duhon, co-founder of Foster the Love Louisiana.
“Just providing a few items in the First Night Bags can make a huge difference.”
Foster the Love Louisiana has teamed up with The Loft, Hue Salon, Chop Leauxcal,
Blush Salon, CycleBar, and Pretty Is Boudoir Studio to collect donations. You can
drop off items for First Night Bags at their locations.
